Frequently Asked Questions
Questions About Membership to the Guild of Deviated Standards
Does my partner/spouse/Dom/sub need to apply for membership as well?
Yes. See membership process below.
How does the membership process work?
Each person must submit a membership application. Each application is vetted. If selected, invitations are created with individual log-in credentials. We will send an invitation with a link and your individualized credentials for event registration. You must complete the registration and payment forms to be considered a member of Guild of
Deviated Standards. Once your confirmation is received by the system, we will send you a confirmation email with instructions on how to access the Members Only area of the website.
Can I register and pay for all my household members at once?
No. Each interested party is required to submit an application to attend the event and go through the vetting process.
Will there be scholarship opportunities?
Not at this time.
Will there be required volunteer hours for all paid members?
No. We have a separate volunteer crew for the weekend.
Does membership need to be renewed annually?
Yes. Your paid membership is only good for that event year.
Questions about Volunteers at Guild of Deviated Standards
How can I volunteer for the event?
Questions about the Hotel for Guild of Deviated Standards
What hotel will the event be held at?
This information is available in the Members Only area of the website. We have a hotel sellout and only registered members of Guild of Deviated Standards 2024 will be able to reserve hotel rooms for the weekend.
When will the link for hotel registration be available?
It is currently available. This information will only be available in the members’ only area.
Will the hotel layout be convenient for the handicapped (i.e. no long hikes)?
Yes. All event space is centrally located with short distances between each area.
Questions about the Dungeon Space at Guild of Deviated Standards
Will there be Membership only Parties?
Yes. We will have membership only parties Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings. Times to be posted on the schedule.
Will DMs be experienced/trained?
Yes. We will be offering several DM trainings leading up to the event. All DM volunteers will be required to attend these trainings.
Questions about Social Events at Guild of Deviated Standards
Will there be options for “house slaves” to serve formal dinners or tea?
Not at this time. If we do find an opportunity for service during the event, we will ask for help through our social media and email.
Is clothing optional at social events?
No. Due to hotel staff being present for social events (i.e. bar service & food service), attendees are required to be clothed until the evening membership parties. Standards of Behavior can be found under the “Rules and Expectations” section of our website.
Will there be a hospitality suite? Who will staff it?
We are not planning on having a hospitality suite that will be hosted. Hospitality suites in the past have been a problem as those who had agreed to host have brought in outside food and beverage, which is against hotel policy, and left the room a mess. There will be a cafe area with tables for socializing throughout the event.
Will there be a space for Sober Kink meetings?
We will have a space available to anyone who wishes to host a Sober Kink meeting. Please reach out to us at producers@guildofdeviatedstandards.com if you are interested in hosting a meeting.
Questions about the Meal Plan at Guild of Deviated Standards
We will not have a meal plan in 2024. This is due to the presented estimated cost of the plan, around $350 per person, as well as the addition of new restaurant options on the ground floor of the building that was under construction during the 2023 year.
The producers strongly recommend planning accordingly if you intend to eat at the hotel restaurant. The restaurant will seat 200 people at a time, and typically have three waitstaff on duty.
Questions about Presenters at Guild of Deviated Standards
Where can I find presenter classes and bios? Where is the schedule located?
While we will post the presenters, their bios, and class titles publicly, detailed information will be available in the Members Only area of the website. All Presenter information will be updated as we announce new presenters and confirm what their classes will be.
