Volunteer Crew Descriptions

Seminars: You must be available to work shifts on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday G.O.D.S. weekend.  There are many intricacies and expectations that will be expected of you including; arriving to the presentation area 30 minutes early and staying up to 30 minutes after in order to assist presenters, moving supplies into and out of each presentation area as needed, moving any dungeon equipment in the area, greeting attendees, and answering questions. You will need to be able to observe the classes and limit distractions.

Security: You will be scheduled for different shifts throughout the weekend. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Security Director will be setting up schedules closer to the event. You will be expected to check-in 15 minutes early from your start time with your shift supervisor, get your placement and radio, and be able to relieve the crew you are replacing.  We may not have a hotel sell-out and will therefore possibly have vanilla’s walking around outside of the secured area at all times. Some of your job duties will be to check badges of all individuals entering the secure area, monitoring all entrances for those who do not belong, make sure everyone leaving the secure area is properly dressed for the vanilla areas of the hotel, observing all areas for cameras and any “vanilla violations”, as well as, answering questions.

Registration: You must be available to work shifts on Thursday and Friday. Some of your job expectations are that you greet attendees in a friendly manner with a big smile and thank you, process registrations quickly and correctly, distribute any pre-purchased items and answer member questions.

Dungeon Build: You must be available to work shifts on Thursday for build, Friday as needed, Saturday as needed, and 8 am on Sunday for tear down. Some of the job expectations are: being able to lift and move at least 50 pounds,  crouching, standing, and kneeling for long periods of time, working with others is a must, and some knowledge of tools is a plus.  You will be expected to act safely and dress appropriately in jeans and a t-shirt with closed-toe shoes whenever you are in the space during build. Shift schedules are non-negotiable, you must be available for all shifts.

Dungeon Monitor: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening play parties. There are many intricacies and expectations that will be expected of you including; walking dungeons and monitoring various scenes and activities, responding to inquiries, needing to be knowledgeable in various forms of play, a willingness to speak up to the head DM if uncomfortable or unsure about an area of play, and responsible for overall safety in designated areas. There may be some training classes closer to the event for dungeon monitors. We will be sending out information to this crew with that information. You will be expected to attend a training class if offered.
